Pending sales down, but what does that mean to a local market?

According to today's WSJ article on pending home sales, pending sales figures across the country fell 3.2%, led by a 6.9% fall in the northeast. Interestingly enough, there was a slight (0.8%) rise in the west.

As highlighted in Mike's earlier post, having access to more timely and more localized data allows you to see this sort of thing coming. Perhaps we need to get the NAR enrolled in our beta program!
